THIRD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT, NJ – Maggie’s List announced its endorsement of Kate Gibbs in New Jersey’s Third Congressional District in recognition of her commitment to avoiding deficit spending, reducing overall government spending, and ensuring a balanced budget.

Gibbs joins the ranks of powerhouse conservative female congresswomen and senators who have also earned Maggie’s List endorsements including Martha McSally (AZ), Joni Ernst (IA), Susan Collins (ME), Elise Stefanik (NY), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA), and Liz Cheney (WY).

“We know that COVID-19 is first and foremost a healthcare crisis, but it is also an economic crisis,” said Gibbs. “Now more than ever, it’s important that we have leaders who can have a keen eye on bringing our economy back online while keeping our fiscal house in order. I’m grateful for the endorsement of Maggie’s List which believes my experience and commitment to fiscal responsibility make me the right leader for this important time in our country’s history.”

As a County Freeholder, Gibbs cut property taxes every year in office, improved the county’s bond rating, and crafted a bipartisan county budget that spent fewer dollars per person than any other county in the state. She did all this while investing more in education, public safety, open space, infrastructure and workforce development.

In Congress, Kate will advocate for comprehensive spending reforms that force the federal government to confront its irresponsible spending and lower our national debt, including a Balanced Budget Amendment.

Gibbs has also committed to reverse years of failure by New Jersey politicians in both parties, and get our state’s fair share from the federal government. One thing has been made clear during this pandemic – It is unacceptable that New Jersey consistently ranks at or near the bottom when it comes to how many federal dollars we receive compared to what our taxpayers send to Washington, D.C.
